it's a steel head champ, the likelyhood of you striping the thread out is not very high. removing the plug is easy, you spray the spark plug with some inox, and let it sit for a few minutes, and undo it. if it does snap, go and get yourself some easy outs, drill a hole in the center of the thing but not to far down, then you insert a easy out into the spark plug and it will come out.

as for the re-taping the thread, well that is the fun part, mainly cuase when you re-tap the thread some of the old thread will fall into the bore, and it's nasty when that happens, if you are unsure, i would take it to a mechanic, either way, it will cost some money.

    cheers

Most mechanics shops will have a thread chaser made for this problem. As they dont actually cut the thread the amount of filings that can get into the bore is minimised. It should take around half an hour to do.
