well i managed to zap my by holding my bonnet up and accidently touching the coil with a spanner. after that the car was fine for a bit but then started ramdomly missing on occasion and got worse and missed more often untill now wont start.
so is this my fault or was it just nearing the end of its life
im not admiring your car im looking in disgust
whoops... thats weird
what exactly do you mean with a spanner?? like the actual terminal??.
if your car was running fine, and yopu did somthing to somthing, and now it's playing up, then whatever you did, resulted in this new found error, so yeah you might of ****ed the pack, just hope it aint any worse than that, that a lethal voltage
na dout u blew it dude just play around with it and u should get it fixst i had the same prob in my vn ss lol
You are lucky you didnt kill your self. The coil dying could have just saved your life.Originally Posted by HDT_aero

I'm not saying that it's a good thing, but it shouldn't kill you.

from what ive heard coil's (being an electrical coil) produce extremly large amounts of voltage at stupid amps, and can deliver a lethal blow, jsut cause your car is 12v does not mean componants are
Actually the current they provide would depend on the conducting material. The MAX current the provide and the current that they DO provide are often two different things.
And I know the voltage is rather high, but they are pulse shocks not one long continuous one.
