hey guys looking for a lv3 dash cluster to suit a v8 ive been getting mixed answers on weather the v6 one will work some say they do other say they wont
if there is someone that has tried this be good to hear from you also if i can find a v8 cluster will have a v6 low km one for sale
As far as I know they were not a straight swap from V8 and V6.
Once you have enought posts (10) you will be able to post a WTB thread in the for sale/wanted thread.

I don't know for certain, but I have heard that there is a switch on the back of the cluster to change the tacho from 6 to 8 cylinder operation, and the fuel gauge to change from the little (65 ltr tank) to the big one (~80ltrs).
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
What clusters have these switches, i have a level 2 Vn cluster, and a level 2 VR police cluster and neither have switches on them
im pretty sure there is also a few resistors that need to be changed on the circuit board for the tacho
and sodways, its only the level 3 that has this switch

I had the cluster in my Calais out a few times and the only switch was for swaping between the 63 and 80lt tanks. This is only so the trip computer can work out the distance to empty, etc.

A level 3 cluster from v8 to v6 vary in regards to the tacho signal. The tacho will not work, but all other instruments will, just make sure to check connectors 1,2 & 3 on the dash and that the pins match. Connector 4 just needs to be tapped in if you don't have one allready (non-calais) and plug in the Trip computer contol switche on the dash and away you go.
PS; The switch on the back is purely for tank size and nothing else, although their is also a more accurate setting in the digital dash setup settings.
