hi guys, a bit confuzed here my car (VN V6 series 1) when cold idles well below normal and when reving in neutral stalls but when it warms up the idle improves it has a diagnostic code of EST so far i have replaced the coil pack ignition module and i was wondering could it be the crank angle sensor stuffing up to make this low idle?? any help would be great...
Could be the CAS. Make sure that you give your throttle body a good clean, and clean up the Idle Air control valve too.
Reset the computer and see what happens.

Thanks for ya help, the throttle body has been recently cleaned and i am not sure how to clean the idle air control valve. the computer has been reset a few times but to no avail, but i can only reset it when it is warm or when i take me foot off the accelerator when idling it dies when cold.
The idle air control valve is screwed into part of the throttle body. Take your t/b off the engine, there are only two electrical connectors on the whole thing, one is for the throttle position sensor (the thing at the end of the shaft the valve turns on) and the other is the IACV, undo the two screws holding the IACV to the t/b and take it out. If the t/b was cleaned properly then the IACV should be nice and clean, if it was just sprayed with carby cleaner while it was still on the engine, chances are the IACV will be dirty as a $2 whore.
Clean it up as best you can (carby cleaner and a wire brush worked for me). Bolt it all back together (don't forget all the vac hoses) and see if that helps.
It may not fix it, but it's a good thing to do anyway.
What engine oil do you run, and is it overfilled?

I use GTX 3 castrol i think and it'nt overfilled well thanks for ya help gonna give it a go and see what happens, thanks
GTX3 is okay, not the best of the best, but it's not a bad oil. The reason I asked is because if it was overfilled then things would be dragging through oil when they shouldn't be, and when it's cold the oil would be a lot thicker.
Sounds like that isn't it though.

Sounds like your car had the same problem as mine. When it was a cold morning and just idling in neutral it nearly stalls because it isnt doing much revs and was running rough and when i rev it, it stalls. i filled up my tank with good fuel and put some spitfire fuel injector cleaner in it and went for a long drive down the coast and have never had a prob since.
I thought that was standard on all VNsall I know is that its the least of my worries!!!
