Unhappy Rear Driveline: New location, now located 30cm further right!!

As was out last night, was driving nicely, happened to come around a roundabout, hit a nice bit of oil someone had left there and put it sideways into the curb!! :b: bent my rim a little, but now my drivers side wheel is nearly outside of the panel and the left is right in!! yeah can imagine my dismay! plus my left brake is rubbing pretty good. thinking of going and sitting somewhere and crying, but instead gonna get it fixed, hopefully just a panhard rod is needed, as i bent the bracket that connects it. but if i have to replace diff and all, might have to unfortunatly upgrade to a lsd

You guys make me laugh. An adjustable panhard bar wont fix up how bad you ****ed it! Also putting a 9" in anything bar a highly modified V8 is pointless. The BW is strong enough.

Not accessable! They have been in every Commodore from the VL onwards along with the Falcon range from the EA onwards!

You should be able to track down an LSD fairly easily, I know that the wreckers up the road from my place normally have a couple sitting there. They get snapped up fairly quickly though. Any diff shop should be able to supply (and fit) an LSD centre, they just aren't that hard to get.

And while an adjustable panhard rod would be a worthwhile upgrade, if you've moved it a full 12" to one side, you will have killed most of the bushes, probably bent the shock mountings, and mangled the locator arms. I think you're up for more than a panhard rod.

well the saga continues, i've actually bent the bracket that connects the panhard rod to the chassis, lots of pain, going to be about 750 to get fixed, so yeah, did a real good number on it, hoping the axle isn't bet due to the wheel rubbing on the brakes and stuff, but yes gives the good stepping out impression while i'm driving, gotta love to step out, crunch hmm brakes feel funny

Hopefully it's not going to be a full rear-end rebuild. or you might as well ask for a re-sleave too

If you've just bent the bracket that holds the panhard to the chasis I'll be supripsed. Don't get me wrong, if that's all it is it's fantastic, but for something to be that far out of alignment, I reckon that there's a whole lot of other stuff that's going to be fairly well bent too.

Got any pictures of how it all looks?

nah, no pics, sorry, yeah upon closer inspection the 30cm is a bit keen, bit of a write off job 30cm, would be ha ha, i'd say it would be like 10cm, once i got right up near it, but yeah the bracket is the only thing bent but what's got me worried is the way the brakes are rubbing, hoping that once it's back inline it'll sort it out... if not could it be the axle is bent maybe?

yeah, or that not looking forward to it anyways!! get it in in two weeks to get the panhard fixed, then they're getting a mechanic to look at the axle while theyve got it to tell me what the go is with it.

nah not stupid enough to do that, common give me some credit, parked it in the garage, drove it to the place to get a quote, saw it was going to take 2 weeks, drove it home and parked it up! nah it drives but why would i want to just do more damage? besides i've got another car i can use while it's out of action
