Exclamation Please Help! Air Con/Heater Power Setting VN

Howdy, i have a 91 VN Berlina. A few weeks ago i had the car taken to a auto electrician who had to fix something in the wiring loom which required taking out the entire dash. Today i noticed that when i move the power slider for the heater settings from Fan to 1 it does nothing...In fact it does nothing until i slide it to 4 and the air comes blasting out at full power.

This didnt happen before the auto electricians. Have they forgotten to connect something? I have no idea how this works so if any1 could tell me if it could be something they have forgotten to do when replacing the dash and putting it back together i wuld be very grateful!

Ask them to check the fan speed resistor and whether they reconnected it to the wiring loom and if so you may find it has burnt out and is just a coincidence!!

Ok i changed the fan speed resistor and its still got the same problem!

Fan speed settings 1, 2 and 3 arent working. So does anyone else have any other ideas as to what the problem could be????

Dont take it as gospel because I am just a diesel mechanic by trade but using basic knowlage of truck air con systems the 4 speeds of the heater fan are 3 speeds where voltage is dropped through your resister at varying amounts and 4th speed is the full 12 volts. When you replaced the resister was there any power at it all? If not, and without stating the obvious you need to track the wires back (with a schematic) until you find your fault. I dont have any repair manuals here but i'll see what I can dig up. No doubt this post hasnt helped you with your problem but i'll see what I can find.
