Just wondering what a CAI is and what it does. thanks
CAI - Cold Air Intake.
your intake system is the black plastic box under your bonnet and has a pipe which runs to the rear of your engine. This is standard intake. To make it CAI you make colder air go into it as the air around your engine is hot.usually by fitting an extension from the box to the front grill of the car.A higher flow filter can also be added.
it should be the first mod you do...
Nah, the first mod you should do is make sure that your throttle body opens up 100%. CAI should be the second mod.
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
Oh yeah i was gonna do that because the box thats on it now it still stock and in a stupid place because it gets all the heat from the engine. So does it make a difference running the pipe to the grill. should i put a pod filter on or just keep the one i got now? thanks
do u need 2 ppl to do that.....1pushing the accelerator fully down and the other watching the TB
no only 1 person. theres a guide in this section about it. it involves grinding a small part on your throttle body to make it open up all the wayOriginally Posted by S Pack

Your best option is getting the VS S/c CAI from holden, costs about 50 bucks for the inlet, duct, and 2 screws, and you can modify your own airbox. Not a hard job at all and you will definately notice cooler temps. I noticed increased economy as well and some people report increased power.
Use the blody search button~! #### Meh!
give him a break, lol atleast hes asking questions, the search button isnt the guide to everything, and most things cant be found easily using hte search button, anyway
with CAI (cold air intake)
it joins to the air box, or you can fit a pod filter (no box with a larger surface area) the only problem with pods is they tend to suck in the hot air from the engine, this can be overcome with a alumium heat shield/heat wall between the engine and the filter
lol @ auto bahn selling VS CAI's for $300 and holden selling them for $55... it cracks me up everytime
ok thanks a lot guys
