tell him to disconnect his battery, pump the brake pedal 10 times, wait 15minutes.... stand on one leg (itll be funny, do it) then battery back on. ECU reset.

pretty sure you disconnect the battery for 15 minutes, plug it back in, turn the car on and rev it to 3000 rpm and leave it that high for about 10 seconds

If he's having problems, it might be worth getting the error codes from the computer before you wipe them. That way you might be able to fix the problems properly.

    1. Determine weather you are electronically illterate or not...

if yes go to "YES". if no go to 2.

    2. Go to www.ebay.com.au
    3. Get account / log in
    4. Buy ALDL Diag. cable ($70)
    5. Get winlog or whatever its called
    6. Log errors

    YES
    1. Go to search
    2. Type ALDL, VN, make
    3. Use instructions to make ALDL
    4. Download winlog or whatever its called
    5. Log errors

    Any other questions?

oh yeah, rev it a bit, like 3000-3500 for a bit so the comp redetects settings. Good point made that maybe he has errors for a reason! Ie. Crappy o2 sensor, no oil, piston missing...etc etc.
