i was just wondering if anyone had a rear strut brace.
na mate but if they are half as good as the front strut braces id buy one
Made one at work, and it works bloody awesome!!!![]()
Doesn't a Panhard Rod do the same thing?Originally Posted by vpv6wagon
i thought the panhard rod stops the diff from moving from side to side.. cos if you get an adjustable one you can adjust the diff over to one side so the wheels don't scrub when you lower your car.
that is what i have been led to believe but i could be wrong there
i want one of those bars that run across the floor in front of the back seat... mounts to each side of the body and goes over the centre bit.... donno what its called but i want one...
aZk.
yep - in a roundabout way that sounds like EXACTLY what the panhard rod's there for.Originally Posted by defa
not wrong at all
stops extremely low cars from crabbing, too

Do you think its more effective on your wagon than what it would be on a sedan?
i don't really know wheather it would more effective on a sedan or wagon, but it made a huge differance to the wagon in keeping it flat around corners. after putting a whiteline strut brace on the front i could still feel the rear rolling when cornering but now it just stays flat. how different is the strut setup on a sedan compared to a wagon?
Im not sure...im not familiar with the setup on the wagons? If only i had the ability to make a rear strut brace myself. Sounds well worth while...
Try as I may for the last few hours, I can't see how this does anything at all
In a wagon you've got a bit more open space, in a sedan the metal of the parcel shelf is 'supposed' to stiffen it up and keep it all tight.
but I'm with foam on this one, I can understand why the front moves around a bit, but can't see why there would be much play in the rear. That said, if you say it works for you then it's a good thing.
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
i want 1!!!
but my subs are in the way![]()

i dont really know how it works but it seems 2 stiffin the rear up heap i think it has something to with weight transfer, i went from flooring it around a tight roundabout and having the inside tire just spinning its guts out(openwheel diff) to it just lighting both tires and sliding and no big whiplash when straightening the car upOriginally Posted by foammedia
No ones going to sell a rear strutbrace for a VN commodore because VN Commodores don't have rear struts. They have a five link live rear Axal.
That's right, so there's no pressure on the shocker mount at all, or anywhere except the panhard rod so the bar can only do exactly nothing but the power of thought is everything![]()
but i like imagining lol.Originally Posted by foammedia

Its a metal bar attached to the floor.....
Cheers, Gaz
oh well it made a difference 2 my wagon and i don't think i am imagining because i didn't really think it would do much in the first place and i know how my car acts.
American Autos sells all of that kind of stuff. Check out Street Commodores mag for rear panhard rods etc
