    Default EL gauges

    Anyone interested?

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CUSTOM-Commod...QQcmdZViewItem

no shadows, very customisable. Might organise another group buy (in a few weeks, after exams) if there is enough interest

    Hi all,

Just picked up one yesterday for $70 from a guy on the northside. Its white face with blue letters/numbers like the one that has a night time shot up above, and also has HOLDEN and lion symbol in red printed around the dials. gonna try putting it in myself tonight might take some snaps if i get a chance.

let me know if u want his number.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    Pretty flash looking.
Is it hard to see in the day? And is the slight shadows in the night a pain at all?. Love the lion and holden in the night

Where'd you get the pic from? Thats from my car!!
Thatss the custom BT1 one that I got made up last time I organised the group buy.

I will say this once and once only, that guy will not be doing a group buy on here. He stole scans of the dashs that me and others posted to make his designs.

You wont have light and dark problems with a standard car. That pic is from my car, being a BT1 the speedo needles dont light up (there is no globe for it) there is a light above instead. Since the globe isnt there, less light is produced hence the darker spot.
I have had mine for over a year now and you dont even notice a light or dark spot.

I didnt know the needles didnt light up on BT1 speedos, is this true for all model BT1, i have a VR one im going to put in mine soon(ish), i hope. I knew the light on top lit up the cluster, but didnt know the needles didnt light up. Can you put globes in to do this?

    Cheers

Thats shocking for an EL setup i hate to say, the brightness should be uniform across the cluster, not dim in the middle near the top. I managed a better job just using LED's for the background and leds for the needles.

Yeah ill put some pics up later tonight, my dash is blue face with green needles. I have also done a VS stage 3 dash with blue background and red needles. Finally ive done a VY dash in blue also.

Stage 2 clusters are quite easy to do but Stage 3 can be a little hard and time consuming as the light is harder to spread evenly over the cluster. I mainly use 10m LEDS for backlighting and 3mm for needle lighting.
