I have the same problem, light comes on only once in a blue moon but has started more frequently lately. It happens sometimes when I start when the car is warmed up.
Other times i'll be driving at 40-60k then it comes on for 2-5 seconds then disapears.
So you think I should get an auto elec to check it? Or just replace the oxygen sensor and alternator?

Wes
When you guys say it was the alternator; were you getting any fault codes.

I have taken my car to an auto elec cause I keep getting code 13, and the engine light coming on every now then. The auto elec reckons there is nothing wrong with the o2 sensor (its about 4months old) but the engine light keeps coming on. (leaving code 13)
Myns on and off I'm used to it now, Soon I'll do the oxygen sensor and see if it will go away, If not I'll give it the code test but stuff the auto elec's they charge a bucket and half the time fix nothing.
