Noisy gearbox
Hey i have a 5sp vn and just recently its starting making a grindy noise. well its not realy a grindy noise just a noise it never made before.(hard to explain what noise) It is worst in 4th gear going 60 or under, but you can still hear it in other gears just not as bad. Any ideas anyone? thanks

Is it a rattley shakey sort of noise? And how many K's does ur car have.....
It could also be your engine straining by the sounds of it, under 60 km/h fourth can struggle on slight inclines, are you dead certain it is the box?
4th gear is a heavily used gear so it could just be lots of wear on it..
This is a stupid thing to write, but if it is the engine, try shifting at these speeds
2nd gear at 30 km/h
3rd gear at 45km/h
4th at 65 km/h
5th at 100 km/h
no noise then its definately shifting too low, otherwise it could be transmission wear, NO GOOD, because that means cesh hehe
Na its not the engine straining. and i do shift like that but if im driving in a 60 zone i usslay change into 4th at 60. it still makes a noise doing 80 to 100 just not as loud. or it might just not seem as loud because its reving more and making more noise.
