no brake lights

My VN has just lost brake lights and i have checked everything so the last possibility is the switch.
Can anyone tell me where to locate it

Switch is behind brake pedal.. Take a look up behind the pedal

Yeah its behind the brake pedal...i had that problem. But if that doesnt work check the globe sockets for the brake lights...sometimes they get some rust in there and with a good clean they are working again.

1. check the sockets as mentioned, make sure connections are good.
2. do the taillights come on with the headlights turned on? if not, its 100% not your brake switch.
3. get a circuit tester and tap the wires coming from the brakes, see if theres even any power down there with the headlights turned on.
