Converting to a VN Calais dash

Commodore enthusiasts I am a new VN owner, and I like the idea of the Calais dash cluster (reminds me of the ol' VH SL/E) but was wondering whether or not the V8 cluster cas be inserted into a V6 vehicle and still have accurate engine speed readings etc.

yes, Prince, it can, all will work fine except for the tachometer, it will show lower values obviously, this can be modified though....

If you are replacing a level 2 dash with the calais dash then you could transplant the tacho over

Got a V6 calais dash And plug cut for sale. It has 336K's on it. The lcd's have bleeds in them as can be seen. All still working though. $100 delivered Australia wide. Conversion on the S'pak complete and successfull .. would of had it done months ago but i couldn't get a wiring loom. looks awsome.. you could never go back to the lvl2 cluster.

Exceptional. I just purchased the V6 model dash so such superfluous work is not required, thankyou for your rapid responses though Isprewell and FXST01.

Calais'd I wouldn't mind buying the left hand switch cluster and the plug as well if you are willing to part with them.

It's such a great thing that people can come together and help idiots like myself build better Commodores

hey all im trying to do the mod so i can test the cluster i got cause i wanna sell it anyways i went to start it yesterday and it said connect the pink and black wire(4th connecter) to the pink and black wire (3rd connecter) so i pulled out the wire that went up to the connecter and there were 3 pink and black wire is that normal if so how do i know what 1 i ave to connect it to ?? thanks matt

Can anyone tell me if the dials on a calais dash would work if you were to put it in an executive for example, with doing all the wiring work? I know the LCD display wont work, but i assume the tacho and speedo etc would...??

my vn already came with the calais cluster in it but does any ones trip comp and average work?

yep mine works. what does yours do? maybe a faulty wire somewhere?

yer my trip comp works and evan the reverse light works the one that seys REV when car is put into reverse

Hers A Simple One For Yoh All , Buy A Monster Tacho. It Reads More Accuratly. If Yoh Want A Real Mod Put A Vs Dash Board In A Vn With The Monster Tacho Off The Door Vent.
