Hi there, I have super lows all round on my vn and it looks alright. Neatens the car up a bit. Even though there legal, lots of scraping and a pretty bumpy ride. Not that i mind. Oh and supers at the back on a vn with stockies has tires in the guards, by about 3cms or so. If u dont mind the scraping id go ultra's at the back. would look a bit tougher. Oh and just outta interest are u going with lovells or king springs, or something else? i have kings if that helps and like i said mine seems to sit where u described u wanted yours to, even and the tires in the back guards.
ive been told that the lovell springs of the same name to kings arnt as low either, so keep that in mind, IE: super low king springs LOWER than super low lovells. But i could be wrong.

And dont forget, springs and new shocks will "sink" so dont be angry if its not as low as u want straight away. give it a bit of time to wear in.

    Anyway hope that helps, Cheers

live actually found that ultra lows ride better than superlows on the rear, super on the front is much bumpier but better, its smooth over small bumps

when i had my supers on the back i didnt have to worry about scraping at the rear, only front... ive scraped rear a few times.. but i just have to ajust to the lower springs,

Hey BeefCream, I had Ultralows all round on my VN and at the rear i was defected for being wayyyyy too low. It was about 60mm too low from memory. Ultralows at the front are actually legal....but its borderline. When you get suspension, if you want it legal its 310mm at the rear and 330mm at the front (thats from the centre of the wheel to the guard).

Heres a pic of my car with the ultralows...excuse the 16's though lol

my mate just got his VS dumped, super lows on the front and superlows on the rear (my 6 month old supers)

it sits even, and is about 120-130mm off the ground, its a nice height.. we went for a cruize jsut before handles fine.. the funny thing is.. its the same height as mine the vn looks higher at the rear for 2 reasons...

reason no.1 it is higher lol
reason no.2 the rear bumper dosnt extend very low (soon to fix this by fitting my new rear bumper)

just some things to consider before you pick springs.. dont let people tell you whats best... get out there and inspect some setups your self... if anyone wants pics of my car at its current height email me,

Vn2nV what are your rear springs??? they look like compressed ultralows (like about the same height as hozy's fronts look the same as ultra lows

looks shithot tho lol pitty bout the defect

    Mr_I_Commodore,
Its $170 fitted for two springs...So around $320 fitted all round. Thats King Springs Superlows from SA Suspension Centre

Dont worry about how high the car is off the ground...before u ever breach that u will breach the eye height. The distance from the guard to the middle of the wheel must be 310mm at the rear and 330mm at the front..

My rear springs were Lovells springs...the Lovells equivalent to the Ultralows but i think they were considerably lower. Not good for when you have 5 people in the car. My guards were rolled but with 225's and 5 ppl in the car it would scrape like sh*t on take off, cornering etc. It was suprising how much lower it wuld still get when u shoved 3 ppl in the back.

You really don't want to make your suspension too hard, it's VERY incomfortable on long trips with all the small harsh little bumps on country highways, your hands go numb

I actually got stuck in a driveway once...front end went down the dip bit and was going back up and the rear went into the dip and the bottom of my car scraped like shit on the ground...went to go back and the exhaust was hitting the bitumen....wuldnt move lol.....I had 3 guys in the car though so i got them out and it still wouldnt go back....i had to get them to lift the back of the car up as much as they culd while i slowly reversed. 1 guy on each wheel well and another just to the rear

I had to have my driveway smoothed out as well....so that it didnt scrape like shit...my exhaust kept coming loose as well.

I got my VN stuck in a ditch in the forest once, towbar embeded in the far side of the ditch, bot rear wheels hanging in the air and the belly of the car on the dirt road wasn't very easy to remove or much fun walking out of a forest at 1am and back home before ringing my dad to come and help me get it out

Ive had a look on my car and i think the lowest point of my car is the joint of the pacemaker headers to the 'Y' branch up neer the tranny. For some reason it just seems to sit low and if I put superlows on her i think she will be illegal and lots of scrapies?
