hi,just of late on my vn-s1 a small engine warning light comes on,the one next to the left indicator arrow, i have checked both oil and water both are o'k', only see it come on after ive turned the lights on, any ideas of the cause ?, thanks..........
it could be shorting out. but i thought it mainly came on when the oxygen sensor is screwed(on mine it does) check the computer for faults and see what happens

passenger side of the just, just under the exhaust manifold.
You should be able to see it by just looking down there...

The engine fault light can come on for any number of reasons, check the codes, the O2 sensor may or may not be the problem, no point forking out $80 to change something if it's not busted.
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
im guessing that the $80 one is for a genuine sensor!!!Originally Posted by mouce
you can get a non-genuine o2 sensor for $60-65

I was talking about the price that my local ricerbarn quoted me (some people are quite happy to pay their prices), before I went down the road to repco and picked it up for less.

Yeah, definitely find out what code it's chucking a wobbly about before you start replacing shit at random. O2 sensor is just a common one for it to be complaining about.Originally Posted by _A_D_A_M_
thanks for replies !, how much would it cost te get an auto-elec to check out the fault codes?, ive got a multimeter and have a basic knowledge about that !, is it to hard to check for faul codes for a novice?, thanks.......
its not worth paying someone to do it!!!
its piss easy just follow the instructions in the link i posted earlier and you will be fine!!!
