wondering what the weight diffence is between the VG ute and VN sedan
is there much difference![]()
there would be a bit. as there is no rear windows, roof or doors in the ute
Adam
Factory specs say they weigh about the same as the executive sedan, go figuremust be some stronger bits underneath

There's a lot more metal in the rear which make it stronger, since there is no roof there, there needs to be a bit of stiffening. So yeah, the weights are pretty close.

I wasnt able to find any info on the weight of the VG Ute, but the VR Ute weighs 1362kg according to Holden...exactly the same as the VR Sedan.
So im guessing the weight is basically the same...they wuldnt be exactly the same but Holden obviously doesnt bother releasing different weights because they are so similar.
the reason i asked was because i was thinking of a new project car
LS1 powered VG ute![]()
Ah so that you can give it to me for my birthday yeah?
ls1 powered ute, what a great idea.
hehehehe that would be fun![]()
That would be an awesome project. Even though the weight in the back is about the same as the sedans, I reckon you'd have problems moving without the tyres frying.

well my ute weighs 1360kg with me in it, full tank, spare tyre, had 2 subs and 2 amps in it at the time so roughly 1300KG with you drivingOriginally Posted by flyen_vn
and no subs and amps
Stock VN weighs 1311kg with tank of petrol and spare tyre....
I doubt subs and amps would add up to 60kg. Most subs weigh between 6 to 7kg...Such as my two 12 inch Pioneers. A sub box isnt exactly heavy either...mine is very large for my subs and its not that heavy. I have 2 amps as well which would only weigh a few kg's each. So maybe 20kg for the 2 amps and subs.
So I would say the 1311kg mark would be about right for the ute as well.
