    Default Sump stuffed...rebuild maybe?

    Hey guys,
My precious VP is leaking oil a bit more than it should...
Had a look under the car yesterday and the sump has a bit of a dent in it..its not leaking oil from the rear main or anything. The oil just seems to drip from the bottom of the sump. Now I dont know whats involved in fixing the sump, does the engine have to come out? If so, should I bother rebuilding a few things in it? Dont want it really racey or anything, just a few things in it to keep her going a few years more... Any ideas, parts, cost etc?
    Thanks!

No you dont need to remove the engine to change the sump. You wouldnt bother trying to repair it, just go to a wreakers and get a new one.

could be just the rubber gasket on the sump, dunno about the availabilty of a new one but. could even be the seal on the drain plug? so far as rebuilding other parts of the engine, what is causing problems? first thing i'd look at is the heads, my mate (mechanical engineer) rekons they are one of the first things that can get an engine running much better. valves, seals, lifters etc.
