    Default How do you tell???

I was just wondering how you tell the difference between a series 1 VN and a series 2?

Check the engine - series 1 has the top radiator hose running to the rear of the engine. Series II has the top rad hose to the top of the water pump as normal.

Didn't they also fix the problem in the 'Series 2' where you could actually life the windscreen wipers up as well without hitting the bonnet?

And isn't that damn annoying. The dudes at our local friendly servo, have done this to me a few , times, grabbed the wiper arm and tried to wrench it up, hitting it hard against the edge of the bonnet. Now I just tell them to keep their filthy water away from my car

different cooling system, (series 2 has cap on rediator and just overflow bottle, series 1 the bottle is a vital part of the system) thermostat housing if located in front of the manifold on the series 2's where as the series 1 the tope coolant pipe goes around to the back of the motor. series 2 has a different fuel rail, series 2 has an updated coil pack, series 2 has an inspection cover over the flywheel (auto) as the series 1 does not.
probally a bit more to see
as for what you cant see series 2 has an 8 bolt flywheel series 1 has a 6. series 2 came out with a restrictor bellmouth inside the intake. and a heap of little shit.
also their was a few models released along the way

the changes between series 1 and 2 engines are quite long...buy a gregory's manual if you want more info. I could type it out but would take an hour or so. Lots and lots of changes.
