Hi,
I just bought a VP Berlina LX V6 and a mate of mine had a look at it and says it has a VR V6 engine in it. Hes says this because the oil dipstcik is located at the front right corner of the engine. He reckons the VP's had the dipstick and the left hand side like the VN did. Is this true?
Thanks
Not at all. My old VP V6 had the dip stick in the same spot.
Mine too. Drivers side at the front of motor.

mate pretty much all the engines have it in the bottom right hand corner (passender) my VN V8 does and so did my six, they also have one the the drivers side at the back for the tranny. (if its an auto)
THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT
They must have VR motors though. When I went to get a Harmonic Balancer for my Berlina LX, they gave me one for a 92 VP. I found that my motor infact took a 93 VR Balancer.Originally Posted by holster
I always thought that VN - VR all had the same motors.
theyre all essentially the same, but they changed certain bits between vn series 1-series 2-vp-vr
