Im seriously contemplating making some basic turbo manifolds. If i was to would anyone want to buy some and how much would you be willing to pay. Ill post a pic of a basic setup inwhich o would sort of follow. They could be used as eithe single or doube manifolds and for extra i could make cross over pipes etc..
Is that an actual example of your work? If so then well done, not bad welding there by the looks of it. Neater than my stuff anyway. Simple design, but that is quite often the best way of doing things. What kinda fabrication experience have you got?
nar thats not an example of my work.. lol. Those were a set i was looking t buying. But then i thought it would be pitty simple to make. I dont really have an fabrication experience but my dad can weld pritty darn well. So ide be making him doing the welding.
i have been making some at tafe they kind of look like them.
yeah i was going to do that. Cause i wanna do a welding course at tafe
how much did he want you to pay for them
if its under 1k for the manifolds then ide probably sell my supercharger setup and buy them.

i wouldn't pay 1k for them could make in half hour with about $200 worth of pipe fittings and 2 standard manifolds.
takes a bit more than half an hour to make them, speaking from experience here.
but $200 is pretty darn close, me and my brother made a set and spent about 160 i think n all that is required is flage for turbo.
i am going to pump out a few sets of manifolds at school this year if anybody wants to buy some i may have some for sale around ovtober/november.
they are pretty easy to make it u have the time and skills, but if u dont its easier to buy them already made

i'm a boilermaker by trade and do alot of pipe work (like nothing but pipe work about 50 hours a week) and it would be easy as to knock a set up in half an hour. so how long did it take you? i'd say i have alot of experience in that area.Originally Posted by BFCK97

so how much would you charge us for this half hour manifold job ?
200$ ?

about 3 hours. but im still learning
well im going to make my first set soonish.. so ill see how it goes
well theres the standard manifolds to consider that i don't have a spare set off, then the fact i dont have a welder at home that works anymore. and postage to where ever u live. plus the fact that i woundn't feel comfortable sell anything that looked like that(poor workmanship there r better ways of making them that would look better and probly flow better). but i you really want a cheap set like that i can see what i can do next time im on night shift.Originally Posted by venomous

thos manifolds were the set on ebay. they went for $150. very cheap. they are like my set. the easiest way to finish a set like that is put a cross over right in front of the motor and mount the turbo there. ya just gotta use a slimline fan. thats all. that is how mine are setup.
it would be good if someone out there would start making those manifolds.. who ever did it would make a killing. i bought mine for $600, it was the first time i had ever seen any manifolds for sale. the next set went for 800 but they were different and i don't think theyw ere as good. the only ones i have seen go cheap are the ones commy92 posted. they would have been a good buy. i wished i had of bought them..
also has anyone ever tried turning the original steel manifolds around and putting them on the opisite side. i don't know if there is the room of not, but am going to try it when i pull mine off
log manifolds (as pictured above) will work and work quite well in most applications, but they are very agricultural in their setup. imagine how the gas is going to flow through them and look at the manifolds, also, the welds may look good on the outside, but how good are they really? too much burn through? not enough root gap on setup? really rough on the inside?
if thats the case, it should be a given that you are going to power port them right through to knock off any dags from excess penetration etc. to aid flow a little.
as for using stock manifolds to mount turbos, they have a habit of cracking under excessive heat and weight loading from the turbocharger.
do the steel maifolds crack aswell. i didn't know that one.. i am hearing what you are saying about those manifolds. the bloke i bought mine off sold his because he was making a new better setup. i was told i should get about 225 kw's at the wheels with mine, but not to expect anymore as the manifolds won't flow good enough for anything else. mine have been power ported as far as i know too. don't know about teh one above.
