Hey, the headlights in the old vn are that farkin dull its not funny or safe for that matter. I know i could get new globes but i beleive that wont fix the problem, my best guess would be that the reflective inserts have faded causing this. So my question is where can i source a new set of inserts and any ideas besides new globes in getting them up to spec.
Cheers
i have painted the inserts before till i got new lights
How did they come up once you painted them?
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
alright. not the best solution, but for a $2 can of spray paint got me through to being able to get new a one
M8 you'd be better off using foil!
I took the headlights out today to have alook and the reflectors are really dull, compared to other spots on it around the back where it hasnt been affected. So i think ill get some chrome paint and new phillips vision plus globes.
Also I was looking at it a while ago because it was jiggling around so i thougt the adjuster screw stripped, but when i pulled it apart the is there is the 2 adjuster screws ( ie. left, right - up down) and a ball joint which hold the whole assembly tight. This ball joint has snapped (the socket part) from the reflector so i gave superglue ago but if it doesnt hold up i will have to get a new reflecter regardless. Does anyone know if holden would sell the reflective inners of the headlights??
cheers
Just open the headlight and clean the reflector with some soapy water and the inside of the glassmine look new after doing it
just remember not to rub to hard if you are cleaining them out, my brother was cleaning his and rubbed back all of the reflective stuff but the new headlighhts did look the part. has anyone also remembered to clean the glass, that may have faded over the years...
On the topic of lights, is there any way to disconnect the VP tail-light backing from the lens? I'd like to get the black backing off so I can spray the inside of the lenses with a light coat of tint. Tinting the outside would wear off...
