Hey all. This is my first thread so treat me nice.
In the last Tech issue special of SC they talked about installing a set of yella terra 1.9.1 roller rockers.
I have already got pacemakers, 2.5 catback, big-bore yella terra throttle body, pod filter straight on the tb and a big hole through the bonnet getting cold air.
If put on a s2v6 do they really make a difference? Has anyone does this mod yet? As they are about $600+ I am dubious about forking out for them.
Also in the write up they claim to get valve bounce due to their already installed Crow Cam. The car they are running is an s1v6 auto.
They are worth it in my opinion...but i would go a lower ratio than 1:9.1 and I would get a stage 2 or 3 cam later on.
1:9.1 ratio rockers are probably a bit high if you're gonna get run a cam as well
The advantage to having a custom cam is that you can set the lift to what you want (within reason). The main advantage to using higher ratio rockers (unless you're spending a small fortune on the motor) is to get the increased lift without having to go through all the expense of a custom cam.
If you're going to get a cam later I'll back up VN2NV, a lower ratio than 1.9:1 would be a good step, however if you're just going to stick with the standard cam, then 1.9 should be okay.
Though I have heard from a few people that there can be a few problems fitting them under standard rocker covers, can anyone confirm this for me?
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
There was a guy in the For Sale section selling roller rockers with spacers for the rocker covers a while ago.l...but it was out of a VS...1:9 ratio rockers though and the rocker covers are the same as that on the VN.
If you check other forums everyone has had problems with their rocker covers but they have simply used spacers?
hey mate,
reckon you would be able to post a few pics of your car?
I have a VN wagon aswell except mines a crapy color but all will change with a fresh coat of paintall i gotta do now is wait...

Is that all the mods you had to get 120rwkw...?
i was under the impression that no one made rockers for the vn - vr with that high ratio and it was only for the ecotecs and sv6 as far as im aware the buiks have 1.65's and you could only get 1.7's from yt wich wouldnt justify the money spent on them
im not admiring your car im looking in disgust
1.71 YT rockers for $250-600 depending where your source them from.
Mix them with 3:91's or 4:11's in ya diff...... An Go have all the fun in the world. haha
Cheers

120rwkw was typo. OopsProbably not that much. Bike is pretty close though.
The 1.9.1 were definately for a VN as it was on V6 Vengence.
Would a set of 1.7 be worth the cash and would I need a spacer kit to for the rocker covers. And would this lower setup run well with an off-the-shelf Stage 2 Crow Cam and Memcal kit?
Thanks for your help so far all.
1.7 would be a good ratio for the Stage 2 Crow Cam...and i dont THINK you will need a spacer kit for the rocker covers with the 1.7 ratio rockers..
hey how does ur cat back system sound, cause im lookin into getting one myself not sure which brand to go yet, no one's actually said which one sounds mad, good economy and is a good price yet...Originally Posted by KarlgotVNcommo
