Tacho troubles

Ive had alot of advice and still carnt get my rev tacho to get a pulse and ive gone to the tacho terminal situated behind the dash instruments of my vp commodore and ive bridge the wire to the brown wire near the left strut tower but still no success thinking bout taking to auto sparky but this was monkey buisness for my gemini and it was only red wire for power black for earth green to neg. on coil pack yellow for illumination but my new tacho only had three wires and i need to find where to hook the green wire up to which usaually goes to neg. on cars with seperate coils not like my commy which has 3 coils and no dizzy HELP HELP!!!
