My cars been locked up for about 2 weeks now while i change the rear diff.. i have done all oils, filters, new pod, transmission fluid & filters.. Ive had time to work on the interior, so i finished the 1000's of little projects i had in there. Hopefully the new diff should be ready to put back in tomorrow morning ready for Friday night.

(GRR Stupid mechanics saying "Oh im busy havn't had time to do your diff yet" {BUT YOUVE HAD IT FOR A WEEK NOW I NEED MY CAR BACK ON THE ROAD I COULD DO IT MYSELF} "No no mate ill get to it and **send you the bill in the mail**")

even though its been a couple of weeks, and it hasn't been moved (well only jacked up and down). U gotta love the VN how you can tell she will fire over on the first tick.

That being said i probably just jynxed myself

What do you mean "only a VN"? They's fightin' words! I'm in love with my VN. It's my treasure. As my Dad's car and then mine, it's been carrying me places for FIFTEEN YEARS without missing a beat. Magical.

Hmm. Not too sure about the christening idea - I'm getting a new set of tyres on Saturday... I'll look after this set. They were shipped up from Sydney just for me
Honestly, who puts 215s on 14" rims??

That hurt. I like my 14s. Well, I'll just keep telling myself that anyway..... until I can afford 18s. Which will be after extractors, full suspension kit, tune, and a few minor fixes (leaky quarter window, power steering leak and slow coolant loss)
Fair call with the tyres though. Just not the way my cookie crumbles, that's all.

If your battery runs down over a couple of days, you'll have a drain somewhere. A mate of mine has got a VR that did the same thing. We jumped it about 20 times off my VN before taking it to an auto sparky. The boot light was the drain - it never turned off. We thought it'd be his amp so we never checked that

Try things like glove box light, boot light...... see if these stay on when they're not supposed to...

YAY someone else who is running around on 14" rims. I thought I was the only one.

Finally someone to share the pain. That I'm planing to move to 'ceptors when I've got the cash set aside (being a uni student sucks). Trying to keep it as a bit of a sleeper.

I know what you mean Hozy,

How's this.....not long after I bought my VN (Auto) I picked up another series 1 motor, 5 speed box, etc etc for a manual conversion. I thought, what the hell, I 'll leave it auto till it's nearly dead then do the swap. Well that engine and box sat there for 4 years ! When my original motor stopped, 320,000k's and it was only because I did a welsh plug on the back of the block and the motor had to come out to fix it, so I thought I may aswell do the conversion.

Hooked it all up, checked everything twice...turned the key, fuel pump buzzing, hit it once and vvvvrrooooommmm...this thing fired straight up and sat there idling beautifully... I was surprised and very happy...hasn't stopped since...GO THE VN's

it cant be the boot light or interior(i took the fuse out)
and ive taken the fuse out of the power supply for the amp so it cant be that.
i read somewhere that it could be the regulator(whatever that is)

the alternator regulator?? i took my alternator off 5 mins ago cos the car has s*** itself. she aint starting no more so might have to replace the alternator and regulator... checked the glovebox light and bootlight and they are fine so it must be the regulator.
