Hi All
Was trying to track down an oil leak from the valve cover area of my car, removed valve covers and changed gaskets then realised there was a bolt missing from the fuel injector rail on the drivers side of the block.
Would this be the cause of the leak and if so does anyone know where I can source these bolts from without having to buy a complete set or if I can just put a bolt the same size from something else in there instead ?
Thanks in advance
the fuel rail bolts are nothing special - they just hold the fuel rail down.
just replace the missing one!
It is unlikely to cause a leak as they screw into a blind hole in the manifold - the bolt doesn't block up any hole as such...![]()
Thanks for the info, I actually looked again and it isn't a fuel rail bolt after all, theres a hole beside the drivers side rocker cover (left hand side when facing engine from the front of the car) where the fuel rail curves around from.
Will try to post some pictures tomorrow as too dark now but does anyone else know if there's supposed to be a bolt in this hole or not as this is where the oil is coming from ?
Thanks in advance
Haven't had time to get a pic during daylight of the engine because of work but it's the area circled here, is there supposed to be a bolt or something in this hole or is it something else ?
Thanks in advance
that should be another blind hole from memory, but one of the gaskets could be leaking around that area.
Pop down to your local do it your self wreckers and don't forget to take your pocket puzzlers.
Never knew the S1 Buick had black fuel rails.
