LAZY POST.
Give me a break: it's 2.45 in the morning.
I just thought I'd ask how hard do you reckon it'd be to get a VN SS kit (could somebody tell me the differences please?)
I don't want anything too over the top (grpA, sv3800), I love the look of the VN SS, and my black/grey-ish executive bumpers are giving me the sh!ts. Really want a set of those fog lights. I think it'd set my car off nicely.
How hard would it be to find an SS kit (whatever the parts are) and how should I go about this?? Do I go for some parts from wrecks or try to source new bits and pieces? My car is white if that matters...
Um . . . yeah... I'm not really sure how to approach this . . . any suggestions or even information / photos would be awesome.
Cheers
Sam
I'm amazed you have a Lexcen with unpainted bumpers? must be the rarest Lexcen ever built
really? i had no idea.....
*yay* new tyres! 215s are mad on 14" rims !! and they look good too.

Edit: (sorry, accidentally double posted)
haha, all show and no go? Sounds like my last ride
The VN SS kit does look sweet though. And it'll hide the fact that you're driving a ToyotaThere's a white SS just down the street from me with the red pin-stripe and square foglamps. One sexy beast. If you can get the kit for a bargain, do it. But don't spend too much. And be prepared to respray your whole car, 'cause you'll be hard-pressed to find a kit that matches your paintwork. Respray will cost around the $1000 mark, depending on the quality you're after. If you're after the same quality the car came with stock, then $1000 should do it.
Here's a few piccies. Be warned though, people will want to race you just because they think you drive a V8.

I'm no expert, but you'll probably have to get a new:
Front Bar
Rear Bar
Side Skirts
Rear Spoiler
Door Decal Strips
Front Grille
Badges (they should come on the spoiler and decal strips though)
Fog Lamps (because you want them)
and a good Exhaust (so it sounds like a v8)
Which could end up being quite costly all up.
thanks for the info Morton. Gave me a couple of things to think about. Might keep that one until I've decided on a colour for a respray (still don't know what colour I'd spray it..... I'm thinking maybe Atlas Grey). And yeah I got the exhaust already and I'm getting Pacemakers in the next month or so.
If anyone else has any suggestions or information I'm still interested in this topic...
check out my link in my sig. im putting the ss kit on my car. (i put the rear skirt on yesterday so no picture up for that yet) i also have a letterbox grille that i wouls suggest you get instead of using that toyota one.
i didnt bother buying the side skirts just yet, but i got the front and rear skirts for $110 all up.
front bar is made of rubber, so if it hits the curb, it wont break.

hmm. I like it. Not too over the top, but it still sets the car off nicely. I think I'll stay with one of the stock SS colours for the respray. Atlas grey I reckon, with a white engine bay for practical reasons. I love the look of an Atlas Grey VN SS with fog lights... Being an old paint though, are there any disadvantages when compared to a newer paint formula?? I don't know a lot about the paint side of things. I just don't want to see it peeling off in another ten years
And I was thinking of a VN Calais front grille. I think that'd look mad on a dark SS.....
group A isnt really over the top, if i were u id be searching the wreckers weekly, hell i picked up a letterbox grille painted for $40, and a group A fiberglass bumper for $32... (painted) you'd be amazed what you find for soooo cheapas for colour matching meh, everything ive got has been the same, right untill i decided to resray tyhe bumper, took the faded layer off the bumper and resprayed it,... it came out too bright
god dam faded paint

Yeah I know - what I meant to say was that it deviates from stock by a little bit more than I'm comfortable with. I'm not really after another VN Group A kit. The SS one would set the car off nicely I think... Personal preference though I guess!Originally Posted by PaRaDoX616
