Bad move gutting your cat. It's a fuc&ing big fine from the EPA when you get done for it. Maximum penalty is $10000. A mate got done once, had to sell his car to pay the fine. It's not worth the risk.

yeah but if u dont hoon like a dick and stay off the street drags and have your car looking bog stock, who will know? by the way, you just tell em u bought the car like that, as rwc dont do cat checks. As long as u have the cat case still there. I prefer the risk anyhow, its the thrill of maybe gettin caught, like smoking dope, having sex in ur girlfriends bed with her parents home, or even just going to street drags! We love the adrenalin dont we!! lol

All it takes is for an cop car to be stuck behind you at lights for about 5 seconds and they're going to smell it.

And it takes them no time at all to actually test it, all they need is one of those little $29.95 hand held thermometers from Jaycar.

For the sake of a $10,000 fine, I reckon it's foolish to have a gutted cat. I found my car actually ran better with a working cat in it.

Tell em thats how u bought the car! They dont think we are all qualified mechanics to know these things! How can ur car run better with a cat in it when its just another restriction lol. Why dont race cars use cats then? If it was legal to run an exhaust without a cat i guarantee u everyone would be doing it mate. I got 7kw more without it.
