Oil Light

:b: another prob guys, was wondering for more help lol
my car is working great now since the last time , but now the OIL LIGHT comes on after about 15 minutes driving (when the car is warmed up), the OIL LIGHT only comes on when i am idle at the lights..... I have checked the oil thingy and its say's it has anough oil in it. and added more just in case, so the car has oil for sure and does not have oil leaks..and the car smells of burnt oil alittle after I have been driving... so what is the problem can anyone help plzzzzz
I havent changed my oil filter for 2 years, could that be the problem?
Remember my car is working great even though I have the light problem..

maybe try replace the oil pressure switch, but burning oil = not good and about ur filter, ur ment to do that every 6mths or something so yes replace it and replace the oil

yeah change the switch, its like 20bucks brand new from repco

change the oil and filter first, are you a mad man not changing it in two years, is your oil thin (water like).
You are neglecting your car and now it appears not to love you!!!

:b: lol No I am MAD woman lol, I will changed the filter and oil on Thursday first and yes the oil is Thin and see what happens lol and then the switch if that dont help. I dont have a good mechanic where I live, someone I can trust , they are idiots and I have found that this site has helped me heaps so Thanks to you all. Will let you alll know when I have changed the oil and filter.

No worries, its not hard, get someone to show you if your unsure and i think you can manage in the future, remember take care of your car and it should take care of you.

Well guys,
I have changed the oil and oil filter today and so far the light hasnt come on yet except when i turned the car on and it blinked and turned of, is that normal? I took the car for a drive for about 1/2 hour stopped "meaning turning the engine off" and then came back home. Its not on when I am idle no more and driving great and no smell of burning. I hope tommorrow its still the same lol

check in a couple of weeks and make sure its thick and not watery, check coolant is in good cond, check the oil on the dip when its cold for level.

OK Guys,
I have changed the oil filter and oil and the light stayed of for a day, but now has come back on lol but the burning smell has gone. So u reckon I should changed the oil switch next? or should i just take it to an electrician to see why the light comes on after a while when idle?
please help this disalusioned gal once again lol

Omg what now, now the car wont start, I have changed the crank angle sensor about 4 weeks ago, then the pulley tensioner went so I have change that,and the next day I had to change the altenator, I have change the petrol filter to and changed the oil and filter last week and the oil light was coming on while idle and still i am having trouble, Now the stupid car wont move, it tries to start but wont kick over, Please does anyone have any ideas?????????????I am in Tears now:my:
