    Default Motor gone possible rplacement

ok so the engine looks like it might have given up on me. I knew i was coming up for rebuild. So just some ideas on the possible replacement

I wanted to stay with 6cyl and i wanted to supercharge.
So i could either rebuild and then supercharge or i was thinking of something like this
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Engine-Super-...QQcmdZViewItem

How would this go in the VP ??
Any thing else i would need ??

Or should i just do my engine??
    Internals first then sc later??

Any ideas are a great help Thanks

why not go for a v8 it would be cheaper and better on fuel most likley(may not be as powerful stock but has a lot more potential 165kw vs 172)

Buy a 2nd hand VN-VR motor for about 700, rebuild it then put the CRS kit on it should cost you about 4000 all up. Save another 3500 then buy an older model (1990-1995) sportsbike and blow everyone away on it regardless on what engine mods they have done to theirs.

My 1993 GSX-R 1100 still hoses the twin turbo VX that gets around my area...

Look into it, Ls1 conversion about $4500-$6000

Would be off it's tits!! ls1 motors are lighter than 5ltr motors.....

    Cheers

If your VP is in exptional condition, it might be worth buying a dinged 5 liter with a good motor or if your VP is average just replace the motor with one from the wreckers or just sell it broken. The ls1 into vp would go monster fast, but it's a big job, and will cost a few grand above the price of the motor and gear box, if you get a dead 5 liter (hit softly in the back or side) it's a swapy swap insta bolt in job. I'd just sell it and buy a 5 liter on gas

you can put any motor into a vp, you can put a bloody v12 in there if ya want
comes down to what qld transport will let ya have without mod plates, your pretty much stuck with only 4 options
    new 3.8
    5ltr from a vp
the echotech (both charged and normal)
or a smaller 6 cycle straigh motor

qld transport wont alow a ls1 conversion.

what ever way you go, i would talk to qld transport first, make sure you do something you are legaly alowed to do
    also enquire about mod plates
as for putting a motor in, the hardest part is the wiring, if ya got your head screwed on it wont be hard, but if your a novice, then it's a pain. it's not a simple case of plug and play

The car is in top condition. Just had full body kit respray new suspension and brakes and new wheels. Interior is stock belina but vey clean. It has only 160000 on the clock but just feels like it let a cylinder go. Sounds like and old UNTUNED 8 and running very rough and backfiring and no power. So as far as fixing or selling the car is in good nic. Thanks for the info Garth very informative. I was going to be putting SC on and now this has happened I figure i might as well got this way and start with a good strong FAST block and go to SC or turbo later. As i said before i would prefer to stay 6 cyl and pref. VP motor ( no wiring etc probs ).

Will find out tomoroow or Thursday what is going on as it is at mechanics now. I put in new plugs and leads to see if this would help but no change.
    Anyway thanks guys

Go for a VS Super 6. That way the mounts should be all the same. Also Id swap the box out aswell. Its been done in a VP before
