    Default Vp Calais wheel arches

Hey all, just after a bit of advice with the wheel arches on my vp.. When I bought the car the wheel arches had been cut down and were too short so I scored another pair off ebay for a decent price, painted them up..only to realise that most of the plastic holes for the screws to sit in were broken

I'm not in the best financial situation atm and I don't really want to waste a perfectly good set of arches because of a small problem but i'm kind of at a loss as to how I should repair them so I can use them..

This is what the broken holes look like..sorry for the dodgy pics

normally the screws are screwed into the wheel arch and a nut goes on from the inside of that bracket to hold them on. Maybe i'm not thinking hard enough but i'm not sure what I should do as theres nothing else to screw into or really attach anything to on the mould itself and I want it to sit on the bracket properly..suggestions?

Maybe you could fill the broken holes with some kind of epoxy or something along those lines and re-drill them so they're fresh... I dunno...

    Best of luck!!!

you could just go get a thread set to re-thread it....all you do is thread it with the next size up thread and get the right screw for that thread and problem fixed or you could do it the cheap way and just fill the thread with thread tape to tighten up the gap around the screw...but it looks like the side of the thread wall is broken so it looks like it goin to be a fun job....
Hope ya get it all fixed

ide say get some firbreglass bog. ITs bog re-enforced with firbreglass. Can get it from superchiat auto etc.. Then just sorta fill it up then drill a small hole CAREFULLY and screw ya screw into it. bobs ya uncle. If not you miht have to think about some other way to mount it????

Thanks guys...yeh I was thinkin filling redrilling the holes but I wasn't really sure what would hold in place seeing as most of the side of the screw holes are broken or missing..so whatever I use really has to attach itself to the plastic and be strong enough not to break..I'l check out the fibreglass bog..

My other option was mounting it some other way but again not too sure seeing as the mould itself doesn't really give me many options. Mounting it another way would probably be preferable as it would probably be stronger than trying to repair the holes + I can align the arches properly.
