    Default Nightmare- 2 flat tyres!

Man I hope this never happens to you guys... I ran over a piece of wood with nails in it... flattened both tyres... but worse the rear one was so bady damaged, that by the time I tried to drive it round the corner, the f**ing thing started to come off the rim..., man the steel belted radial went through the petrol tank... now theres a little leak. Just thankful I'm still here, but hey, I am still pretty pissed off! Might use the opportunity to change the fuel tank, replace fuel pump ect

So am I... I did'nt even notice the fuel dripping until the tow truck guy pointed it out to me... Could'nt believe it, but it was'nt leaking before that, so it more or less had to be the tyre. I'll chat to the mechanic tomorrow and see what he says

Good excuse to upgrade to the larger tank.

good time for new rims too haha . Probably got scratches all over your rear rims now? How come you didn't see the wood in the middle of the road. Was it a small piece or a log that couldn't be avoided without causing someone else to have a accident.

I had just turned the corner and it was there. It was like a big piece of wood out of a window frame. There was cars behind/ to the side of me so I could'nt avoid it. It was on a main road, so I'd say possibly hundereds ran over it! Would'nt be surprised if a lot of them got flats too. As for the leaking fuel tank, yes there was a huge dent in the tank, but not caused by the tyre after all. seems that the tyre coming off the rim made the car low enough the tank hit the ground, maybe when going over a dip in the road. All fixed, not too expensive really.

Actually I got steelies, man I drove on the rim, but its OK. DAMN steelies are tough!

The dint in the fuel tank was probably from the tow truck driver bottoming it out when he was putting it on the tray..

Oh.... Looks as though you got a leak there.. hmm... haha

    What a mess.

I would've thought that... but I saw the leak before he put it on (thats why he mentioned it LOL) Still, it was nice that a lot of people stopped and offered help, some of them even drove Fords! LOL
