Hey fellow commodore owners. im new to this site so hope im doing this right. I am going to get new springs soon.
I was gonna go ultras at back and supers on front. anyone got this setup? How many inches from stock height do the ultras drop the back?
With ultras at the back does it get too much cop attention? and do you scrape over every bump and speed hump and going up driveways?
I also go to the coast sometimes with a full car off people and the boot full and full tank of fuel. Would it be better getting supers or ultras for this? i want Ultras but just worried with full load that it will be ridiculously low with full load. Thanks![]()
Im guessing know one has this set up?
If you want to look like snoop dog in a pimp mobile get ultras, if you want to go fast around corners get lows, if you want to go around corners and be a bit lower get supersit's simple
Does anyone have any pics of their cars with ultras and supers?
I have ultralows at the front and supers at the rear...Ultralows at the rear are a pain....scraping, tyres scrubbing etc...But if having your exhaust tightened every month seems like a good idea, go for it
So Supers are they way to go by the sounds of it. Vn2nv is that ur car with the supers at the rear in ur display pic? cheers
from what i've heard, i'd go superlows all around
the ultralows dont go too much lower than the supers but generally make it illegal height
also...speedhumps and any bump you will want to avoid!

I got ultras all round and I don't know what everyone's on about. I'm a little bit carefull going over bumps but I've never scraped or bottomed out. I got them for the handling because I want my centre of gravity close to the ground and my springs stiff. The front does sit a little bit lower though so supers on the front and ultras on the ass sounds like a good setup.
Well if its only ever you in the car and a passenger Ultras can be ok...But if you have ppl in the back then its a hassle like i described earlier...
My dp shows my car with Ultralows front and rear on 225/50/R16's....
Heres a bigger pic
Yea Vn2nV is probably right. I don't usually have more than two passengers at a time and never have a boot full of crap. I don't even carry a spare tyre.
yeah not in that photo, but since late last year i've been carrying around 2 pretty heavy toolboxes in my boot and i still have the spare wheel and 2 amps and 2 subs in a pretty big sub box....so theres a bit of extra weight there too. With 18's it may not be so bad cause you gain some clearance, but with my 16's it wasnt so gr8.
take a look here dude, all my pics, before and after ultra's in the rear

Ultra lows for me would be suicide then, On footy days i carry 5 in the car and my heavy duty tow bar built into the car and the big arse box with amp subs, I did a weight check thats 1805kg in my car to the footy and backOriginally Posted by 1991_Vn2nV
I'm thinking superlows might be the go
And some Monroe short shocks.

I hope so it's one i really hadn't seen before, I hope it's low enoughOriginally Posted by 1991_Vn2nV
But I'll just take care and cringe on ever bump
Is it true once i seen a car drop 10mm because they fitted short shocks is that true the car will drop more at the rear because of that or is that just BS.

Get ultras in rear. you wont be happy with supers. i wasnt so i went ultras. I go down coast maybe 8 or 9 times a year with mates. 3 people in back seat. 2 people in front. full tank of fuel and boot full of grog and its fine. have had mine for ages now, and gets no cop attention. And im on Ps. Its not low at all. If anything i want it lower.
Australia. Love it or leave it
Thats what i thought. so i took them back and they a sured me they were ultras. they even gave me another set to prove it and it was the same. i dono why my car sits higher. i 1st got supers and the tyre wasn't even in the guard. That pic was the day i 1st put them in. they have sagged a little over the year or 2 but not by too much.
Edit. the part number of my springs is KHPR-20SL
Australia. Love it or leave it
Yeah thats the correct part number for ultralows. Do you have shortened shocks in the rear?
For anyone wanting Ultralows, the part number is KHPR-20SL for rear (VB to VP non-IRS) and the front part number is KHFL-22SSL but there is an even lower front spring that suits all commodores KHFL-47SSL.
I was going to say that VN2NV, Sits higher then my old VP. It sits on superlows all round.
