Hi, i've just bought a 1990 VN Berlina V6 that has a few problems at the moment. The biggest of these is that it idles really badly (possibly only firing on 4 cylinders sometimes) and if you turn the steering wheel at low revs, the revs drop down a lot - sometimes enough for it to cut out.
Any ideas? Its ruining what is otherwise a really nice car!!:b:
look into the state of your coil pack about the misfiring makes a car run super rough, also the power steering rack could be the problem with the full lock turning at low revs.
maybe consider changing your leads and spark plugs.
i changed my leads and spark plugs last weekend for that problem (firing on less than 6 cyclinders)..
its going all good now...
spark plugs cost me 3.50 each and leads were 35.00 from Repco.
56 bucks but worth it ay.
I'll change the coil pack and spark plugs first I reckon. The leads look almost brand new! It's also due for a steering rack as the one in there at the moment has a bit of a leak. Thanks for the ideas.
Does anyone know how difficult/expensive it is to replace the C.A.S. on a 91 vn v6 auto berlina, stalls and won't run properly, until cools down, was told to pour water over sensor to cool!, Also are coil packs for same expensive, and do they include the module![]()
Pretty cheap for a cas on ebay for 45 or so. Pain to change but lol.
