hey all another problem with my vn again?? uit seems never ending.
my clutch is really stiff and when i quickshift from first to second it seems to not give all the way and revvs out and then about 5 seconds after it releases and gets going. same with dumping it not that i do it much but it doesnt lose trraction right away you can have your foot off the clutch and it will still rev and not move anywhere and sometimes it doesnt its weird anybody have any ideas on how to fix it or whether i need a new one???

Can Anyone Help Me Please
you need a new clutch.....
how much is that gonna set me back ??? does anyone know?
$400 for a decent clutch kit..... plus about another $400 for someone to put it in
might need new cltuch id say no clutch plate but dunno if it takes time to select might need new syncrose for you gear box
Easiest way to check your clutch is to cruise along at 60Ks in third gear then floor it. If it revs up and doesnt go anywhere your clutch or pressure plate are stuffed. If it only slips for a while after you release the clutch it could be a sticky thrust bearing or slave cylinder or cable or linkage.
yea na even in second at 40 give it flat stick throttle and she revs up real high without a kick down the driveshaft but now i let the clutch out and she doesnt go anywhere at all just revs with the clutch out on the spot
4th and 5th would be better to test it wouldnt it. mine slips as well when i change down into 3rd foot flat at about 100 for a few secs. it even did it in first(foot flat again) from take off a whilee ago. i need a new one to lol but i can wait till it does it while driving normal.Originally Posted by Tree cutter
Sounds like you need a new cluch plate and pressure plate. While you have it apart you should replace the thrust bearing as well because it isnt that expensive and it could be near worn out anyway. Also check the flywheel to see if it has any hot spots on it from slipping. Hot spots are blueish colored patches on the surface of the flywheel that are slightly higher than the rest of the surface which sometimes have small cracks in them. You will need to get your flywheel resurfaced if you have hot spots so your new clutch doesnt slip.
