Default V8 Air Box on V6?

Hey all. I was just wondering if it was possible to, or if anyone has, fitted one of those high-flow smooth looking V8 Air Box Tops to a V6 3.8? I wouldn't mind trying that one out, but the small detail of the differring intake duct angles worries me.

I think it might be possible to fit the airbox from the VS V6 supercharged engine into the VN. Also a really good excuse to fit a CAI if you haven't already got one.

Interesting, thanks. I'm already running a VS SC V6 CAI and K&N filter. I'm just really trying to optimize the intake as much as possible now.

essentially no you cant. THe V8 one points sideways too far, whilst the V6 one points 45 degrees backwards. THeres another big airbox thread about this maybe 3 months ago where I posted a few pics up, but yer, without cutting it up and fibreglassing it etc, just doesnt fit.

I thought that was the case. Has anyone noticed that due to the outlet on the airbox there is this massive flat area that renders around 15-20% of the air filter area useless. There's gotta be a way to fit a better air box shape.

Oh...Okay...I thought the VS s/c had a smoothed lid on it. Sorry.

If the box fits in the space all you need to do is extend the intake pipe, any hardware store will sell bendable heavy duty plastic pipes perfect for the job.

Incorrect. The outlet for the V8 one (VS S3) is moulded so the outlet runs east/west and cant be easily changed. THe actual hole for the outlet sits in front of the coilpack. Have another read of the link I posted. I thought of cutting/glassing it up, but too much hassle for no probable gain.
