reverse lights wont turn off

Hi all, I have a vn s2 5 speed and have noticed today that the reverse lights are on all the time.
Any one here know what the problem would be??

the switch for the reverse lights might be stuck down

How does the switch get stuck down?

it mechanically gets stuck or the contacts are welded together, get a new one and it will fix it.

yes it is a switch on the side of the box. if you take it out and clean it it may start workin again, while you have it out make sure there isnt anything in the hole it comes from you will need a mirror to do that.

Just replace it, don't bother trying to fix it, if you not sure which plug it is disconnect the plug ans see if the reverse lights go out
