hey all i was just wondering is it a monster task to chage a clutch over??? coz mine has burnt out and i need to chuck a new one in and wondering whether i should give it a go myself or pay someone to do it?? do i need a hoist to take gearbox out etc etc???
you can do it without a hoist. its best if you put it on ramps or chassis stands. the hardest part of the job is ligning up the clutch properly, you can buy a aligning tool from wherever you get your clutch.
i am in the process of changing my clutch( the gearbox is out and i am waiting on the clutch to come in) and its not to hard to get it all out. i got the car on stands, remove gearstick, remove the tailshaft and use a rattle gun with lots of extensions to remove it frome the engine. mind you, i'm no mechanic and its the first time i have ever tried to change a clutch.
hope this helps.
