    Default Sv89

I've had my SV89 for a few years now and am thinking of selling, my problem is that they are quite rare and there aren't any around to compare it to. Has anyone seen any for sale or do you know what they are worth these days. Its an auto with 215000 has konis king springs nolathane bushes throughout 18's near new tyres dvd subs in a fully custom boot K&N detailed enginebay momo swheel and the interior is very well kept.

I found only one SV89 auto for sale for ya to compare:
    http://www.australianmusclecarsales.com.au/muscle/70408

I would say that one is probably a bit lower in km's and it has a sun roof, however yours has mags and all the other stuff you mentioned. However I doubt that one will fetch $13,500...perhaps closer to $10g

Thats just my 2 cents anyway....Hope that helps

I'd definitely aim for 10 minimum for your car...After all they are a collectors peice..200 of them made or something?

Maybe advertise it for a grand more than you want and stick o.n.o on the end and see how ya go... Yours would have a better chance of getting $13,500 than the one in the link imo

Yeah, the going rate is around the 10k mark. There was a manual one here in adelaide at a car yard a little while back for about 13, but it was a manual. Do you still have the colour coded walkinshaws? Is the momo steering wheel the standard one or an aftermarket?

Don't have the walkinshaws and the momo is an aftermarket, I can see a manual being worth more there was only fifty of them and 150 autos but 13 still seems a bit high as you both agree.

I saw 2 sv89's parked side by side in my town not long ago, I so should have taken a picture. One of them is allways there but the other must have just seen the local one and decided to park beside it

I have to agree with that, much the same as my car, to everyone around me its a VN with some rims, to the someone that knows what they are they are something special. Thats the problem with selling the earlier HSVs, very few people know what they are, these things happen though, and someone will want your car, hopefully someone wants mine too!

I hear what u'r saying I have found that day to day people think it is a creation and non genuine, but hopefully with the fact that there aren't too many available it will apeal to someone that knows their stuff. And on the other hand they do have all options how many people can say that their vn has every button in use on their dash surround and the leather velour interior is really well done oh and factory 180kw and 400nm is nice too.

LOL, i was gunna put mine on gas a little while back, it was gunna be done by a mate so it was gunna be dirt cheap, never got around to it though.

The SV5000's are a little better known, but they still arnt up there with the clubsports and senators. The SV5000's are also a little more saught after over the SV89. The SV89's interior colour was horrible if you ask me, much prefer the grey that the 5000's and 3800's got, still a nice interior to sit in though. There have been a few SV5000's up for sale around adelaide in the last twelve months, i kicked myself everytime one came up at a good price and i couldnt afford it, same goes for the SV89 i looked at when i bought mine, couldnt afford it, wish i had stretched the budget now

So do you guys think it might be a good idea to see what sort of trade in I'll get or just advertise and wait, mind you I did only pay 7 for it some time ago but I think the guy might not of known what he had and I have since spent a tidy sum on suspension and incar entertainment.

You will get more private sale, but it will take time. The trade in will give a tidy sum, but the private sale option is always the better one. Hope your not in a hurry to get a new car if you choose to sell it privatly.

And 7k, you did well to get it for that
