Depending on the condition of the body ie, rust ect.
I would say around $3000
ok well no rust, and im paying $1000 for it, im gonna body kit it, get metallic black paint, tint windows...etc
wow 1 grandget it checked over, may have major probs?
Yeah for $1 grand I would be getting it checked by a mechanic...In case theres something he aint telling you...
yeh im gonna get a mechanic to check it out, they said that they will sell it to me for a grand, they want to upgrade, so im happy, it drives nice, and im happy to get it for a first
Yeah it does sound good man, especially for the price! Good first car, decent km's for its age too
yep, so im gonna customize it when i get it and will post some pics :P

hell i got my calais for $2500 a year ago, gg on the doubble post :P
The VN/VP's really are good value for money these days.
There are spares for them everywhere, they get fairly good economy(if all sensors are working),and have as much power as most of the new models out there. For $1,000 plus a couple of thousand more possibly, you can have a good car that will do you well for several years, and all things compared still looks fairly modern. Just expect to do the O2 sensor, fuel filter, oil/filter change and transmission service on a regular basis and it will keep on going well.
If you don't know when the O2 sensor was done (they only last about 100,000), then change that, the oil filter and oil I do every 5,000.
Get a crank angle sensor too as they commonly fail. And if the previous owner doesnt know when replaced is a good idea to replace it. Also have a look around for the common faults found on JC. And never let the fuel tank get too low , they have an internal pump, that doesn't like running dry.
But it sounds like you have got yourself a bargain. Mine cost $1500, and I had all the usual problems within the 1st 6 months.
I got myn off my brothers friend for $1700. $500 on the road With RWC. Only problems were it was to low and it done the upper control arms and needed 4 wheels and half the exhaust was toast.Originally Posted by ejhorwood
Body was straight never in a crash, Paint was and is fading, Close to 300,000km but never thrashed runs like a charm. $2500 offer that but even $3000 is pretty good if it's a real looker. With rust It's a pain.
So if your getting it for $1000 thats a steal![]()
