hello, like most i have just about ompeted the breathing stage of my vn v6
CAI
Custom pod box/heat sheild
K&N Pod
stainless steel intake pipe
V8 Throttle body polished to within an inch of it's life,
polished and smooth elbow
bellmouth removed
Genie extractors
Redback cat back zorst (2.5") with rear muffler fitted (redback item)
now what, like probally alot of other people (in relation to simular mods), what i was wondering is what sort of power would this pull at the rear wheels, i aint got 70bucks to take it and get it dynoed so i am after a rough estimation, oh the motor has done 170000 and it's an auto
cheers lads and gents
That could vary alot depending on how good the motor was to start with. I'll take my guess at anywhere from 110 to 125rwkw
thanks geeny, yeah the motor is real nice, it's myecond motor, it came out of a granny driven vn and i copped it with 162000 and a 3 month warrenty. to me it moves quite well, but i aint got nuthin to compare it to, looks like i need to go for a drive, see a 5lt and give it a rev
Trouble with the 5 liter is you never know what you are going to get, could be a stock calais at 15.5 or a 12 second executive : )
thats true, but it's worth it even having a go and same with them ricer boys cause by the time they hit full spool, it's near the speed limit and your infront
Got a pic of the intake pipe?
Does the V8 throttle body bolt straight on to the V6 manifold adaptor or do u need a V8 one? Does it all match up without the need for machining?
it's basically the exact same TB except that the butterfly on the 6 is 60mm and the 8 is 65mm, but other than that they even look exactly the same, so yeah it's a strait bolt on plug in![]()
I'll revise my expected power output to 110-115 rwkw
