So it comes that time again to make the VN look a bit different from the many million others roaming around..
So im planning on giving the old Light Bulbs the flick..
And changing my current H4's(Driving Lights) and T10's(Parkers) to something more nice.. Xeon Super-White's..But it will make it so much different to the thousands of VN's i pass by everyday

Has anybody done the full change?
I wont have my lights for another week but heres what my lights look like atm.
(Parkers are ON) Ill update this thread once i have changed them so others can hopefully follow trend and upgrade
Cheers

umm my mate changed his over, as far as im aware its a straight swap send us some pics when done![]()
I got the red lights for parkers now, And upgraded my H4's with something that was 30% brighter, Had a dash problem one night and blew the right side, Had to then stick back the old one with the new bright one, And i can clearly now see the difference between the 2, Ones a bit like your parker but brighter and the other is very white with a touch of blue.
You can pick some that give off a white look or even a blue euro look.

Especially with a VN with rims and P plates. Work wonders though
Here is a pic of my lights.
New bright 1 is on the right of screen. And the old stock is on the left of screen.
Even though it looks bright you can see how much the brightness is centred in the one on the right, Even look at the ground as they both show up on the ground concrete in front of the car big reflection from the new brighter globe, You can see the white and a touch of blue in the right of screen one. And trust me when driving there is a bigger difference on lighting up the road, The stock one is to much all over and the upgraded one is more centred with it's beam and that is why it's stronger on the road and more white.
All i need now is to buy a new one for the left side which means buying to now![]()

I notice the refector cap on the oldies was corroded, that might explain part of the reason why they were so dull.
Ah, nothing like a Datsun 120 WHY!
There not to bad at all.
Our old Gemini had crap lights bad one night we lost 50% power to them it was scary.
If you have a look on ebay for H4 globes they have a massive line of them, Some aren't for our cars but some 55/60w one's have that closest to legal white or that Crystal look, Some even claim to be 40% brighter then a 100w light globe.

Those are the exact 2 item's im using.
I got a full set (headlight and high-beams) of Narva Arctic Blue globes. They're awesome for driving country roads at night - really white light, and heaps of it. Also replaced the headlight assemblies themselves with aftermarket units - the old reflectors were rooted, so this probably helped . . .
Mates tell me they're something special on the roads too
How much are the after market units? Because my reflectors are rooters as well. where u get them from?

future; Extractors , Cam currently; 101.2rwkw mission; 110rwkw
yeh, thats it. oh, and thats with new light lenses and reflectors aswell, theyre about 1 year old though.
They cost me $90 per side, but I got them at a place called SSS Auto Parts in Perth . . . so that probably doesn't help you too much . . .Originally Posted by coolvncommodore

thats about normal price for aftermarket, at work (autobarn) we get ours from either SSS or All Crash Parts.
go into autobarn, repco, etc and ask for a price. mine are the all crash ones and i have no problems with changing globes.
what exactly is the problem? out of curiosity, is it shit mouldings making globes a hard fit? tight fitting covers?
I think we had a couple of dramas with the general build quality of the light housings . . . It was quite a while ago (start of last year) that I installed them, all I remember is that some plastic part around the back came loose when it shouldn't have and we had to wedge it back in place.
Changing the globes is only a hassle due to the annoying screw and spring system used to hold the globe in there. Loosening small screws in awkward locations without losing tiny metal catches - this is annoying after a couple of bulb changes!
has any one had a problem with the lights burning the casing or reflectors ?
im very keen to upgrade but i have herd alot of storys that make me think twice :S
Nope - as long as you use the same wattage globes (which most aftermarket ones should be . . . ) you shouldn't have a problem with this.
When people put in higher powered globes, that's when the melting issues arise!
