handbrake handle

can a hand brake handle be removed?
if so how is this done?

just had a look on a wreck. there is 2 bolts holding it. they are on the passengers side .take the console out then i ripped the carpet on top of the tunnel, then you will see the 2 bolts. then you will have to disconnect the cable underneathand then remove the cable holder, the car then it should come up.

if your trying to replace the button then it can be done. the "little black handle" is just a plastic cover slid over a metal pipe the whole thing is one piece.
