Sweet man i've never seen a vn with a power button before so what does the pwr light on cluster next to indecator mean oh! does it mean you are using to much fuel?
never heard of those lights. maybe you have a vr cluster?
1995 Manual HSV Clubsport
Wade Cam :: 9.2:1 CR :: Pacemaker headers :: Twin 2.5" Exhaust :: VT Brakes
1991 Supercharged VN Berlina
9 PSI SC14 Intercooled :: Genie headers :: Twin cats :: HM Twin 2.25 exhaust :: 3.45:1 LSD
My non-tacho dash in my Berlina has a PWR light on it. It never lights up though, so no idea why its there!
Mine has two PWR lights in the row of lights. They don't have globes behind them so they CAN'T light up, but it would be interesting to know what they are there for.
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.
i *think* they are for those with power antenna, PWR + and PWR - or for setting cruise control, lighting up when you press up or down, not sure.
Might be for the power antenna, it's not for the cruise I don't think. My cruise only lights up the CRS light. Dunno about the antenna, haven't fixed mine yet.Originally Posted by hakhawk
As for the original question. No you cannot put a power button into a VN auto. In VN and VP the TH700 auto was completely hydraulically controlled. In VR the box became the 4L60E, essentially the same box but electronically controlled. The power button just told the computer to adopt a more "aggressive" shift pattern. Obviously in a hydraulically controlled box this is not possible. Also completely unnecessary in my humble opinion, the TH700 behaves better than any 4L60E I've ever driven. The 4L60E behind a gen3 is just a pain in the arse, even in power mode my old boss's VY SS was an absolute pig of a thing. The electronic shift lags worse than the old school box, chuck it in the bin.
my cm chrysler has a light like that. well it did. i took it off when i put another front on it. it had little indictors facing the driver on the front guards so ya could see if the indictors were still on. pretty stupid idea but anyways the right one would light up when ya put ya foot down to say you are using too much fuel.
i believe the pwr lights are in the dash for the export models with the opel 2.6 engine in them.
My 1989 VN BERLINA has a power button on the automatic lever, and the PWR light on the dash which obviously lights up when ya push da button, but my vn has a different export engine in it which were only sold to singapore and new zealand i think
