vn/vp ss seats arent all that great man....remember the ss is based off the exec model.
some vn calais seats would be a nicer option, and easier to find than say some clubby or senator seats out of a vn/vp.
you see velour calais trims goin for about $200-400 usually, unless they're in particularly nice condition and they go for a bit more.

vq seats are almost identical to calais ones...they're just re-trimmed.
plus they arent as easily found as calais ones and people expect you to pay more because they're from a statesman.

You usually get parts cheaper by searching ebay regularly for instance "calais wrecking" and finding someone wrecking a calais in their backyard. Got my mint, almost new looking calais seats that way for $200 today, front and back Got unchipped ashtray and calais velour door inserts for another $50!!

Pulled parts off other backyard commos before too for rock bottom prices

vq seats are different that calais seats. calais seats are harder. i have a set of vq seats ready to put in my car and they are a lot different. a mate of mine has two sets of calais seats and said he would rather the statesman seats. my girlfriends mother has a vn v6 LE and it just has the s pack/ss trim in it, but the seats are great. really soft. but i put seats out of an s pack and they are like my old exec seats. they suck. i can't wait to pull them out.. the foam in them is very different for sure. and i have seen different ss seats too. they were the same pattern as the first ss seats but in the shape of vq seats, that was only the front i saw though.. don't know wbout the back and don't know if they were soft like vq seats..

Nope they aint the same. I have VS SIII stato ones in my VR. The are the shit only prob is because of the statos greater width the side bolster plugs cannot be clipped in.

are you on some sort of vendetta against me airstrike?!...i just replied to another thread where you were trying to discredit me.
i said VQ SEATS are ALMOST identical to calais (as in VN calais, which is what was being discussed)...which they are, they are the exact same design just re-trimmed for use in the statesman....i didnt say anything about VS statesman seats.

i don't agree with that at all. my vq seats are a different shape to calais seats.. but really who cares. as long as they don't give ya a sore back it shouldn't matter..

It was to do with ALL statesman seats. There is a greater width in the rear so they cannot be the same, and as for the fronts they use the same frames but different foams.
No vendetta against you, just correcting what I see wrong, hell up until now I have never even seen any of your posts.

not that i was asked. but if you asked me i would say don't get leather.. one of my mates girlfriends has leather. and it really isn't as good as i thought it would be.. they have seat covers on it some times of the year. then when it cracks it looks crap.. but i spose ya gotta look after it..
but it does look great though.. i spose it is just in summer it sucks..

I got a set of Calais seats for $200. Saw a guy wrecking his Calais on ebay. Went out and pulled the parts myself. Dirty but in good nick. Cleaned 'em up and they looked near new. Seat height adjust wasnt working, but never gonna use that anyway. Comfortable as, by the way. The VN calais velour was kind of "baggy" looking, with random-ish folds in the seat fabric. I reckon they look cool, and not as boring as most velour seats.

HOW TO FIX THE (commonly stuffed) LUMBAR SUPPORT

Lumbar was'nt working either, so I fixed that, having a bad back LOL! Unhooked rear fabric, ripped up back fabric. You see a white seatbelt type thing in there. I just got some small cable ties and hooked the seatbelt looking thing onto the metal hook things on the left side. Now works like new! Tucked fabric back in, and put metal hooks at bottom back on. Easy as.
