Car stalled going into 2nd gear

Hey guys thismorning was realy cold and frosty so i warmed up my car for a few mins and got the ice off the windows and then when i left the driveway and was changing into 2nd gear it stalled(5spd manual) . This has never happend before. I thought the computer is meant to work all this out so it doesnt stall on frosty cold mornings? What could be the prob. After i restarted it and reved it a bit it was smooth as for the rest of the day. thanks guys.

maybe it was still adjusting itself?.... putting the engine under load when things are cold probably wouldnt of helped tho.....

ive been told the best thing to do with efi cars is to just drive off,, no sitting letting warm up... dunno if true or not. but i use a thinner oil any how
