Restart the ECU first just pull both leads off the battery for 1-2min or in the time your doing the Oxygen sensor would be best. Then start it up, I'm not sure about the 3000rpm thing.

It says to i the manual i've got. I do it if i disconect the battery, but its a good idea to warm the car up first then disconnect the battery and reconeck it then hold it at 3000rpm for 10 secs
    I didn't do it

it doens't matter a whole lot. the ECU will remap itself over time, you won't do any damage either way.

when you put the new o2 sensor in run the car for a bit until the manifold is warm!!

For the 3000 rpm thing.. When you reset the computer, holding 3 grand for 10 seconds helps reset the idle air control valve. Usually if you don't do this the car will idle real rough and pour smoke but will probably reset itself next time you drive it anyway.

My brother changed my oxygen sensor last night, Took him 3min off and on i was shocked, Wont know till Wednesday how the fuel economy is, But first thing noticed i have a slightly sicker car at the moment it's a touch ruff at start ups and holds revs a little. Reset the ECU even did the 3000rpm thing.

Even though it's hard almost out of petrol i think it seems better on fuel, I today went to airport west to wreckers, Good guys there also, Then onto deer park and back home to sunshine, Clocked about 40-50km, Hardly moved a line in that time, And i wasn't pussy footing about.
Can't wait to try a full tank I'll know in the first 100km if it's a improvement 100%.

Yea i changed mine just last week before my dyno run. I was told it wasnt the best condition as i had my comp remapped two weeks prior. Well anyway i gained 12rwkw. It could of been the sensor or just the difference in dynos. Its easier to get to them from under the car. 5 minute job. Alot more economical and a tad smoother. I didnt do any of that reset shit. lol Cant believe how workshops can rip $160 off you just to change it.

My brother stuck his spanner down under the bonnet twist and it was off and the new was on in 3min i was like WTF??? That easy??
But when the old one came off OMG! it was black and charcoal it was D.E.A.D Like 100 years ago it was just shit no wonder i have been struggling with fuel.

I think I'm getting better economy already, I was about 210km when we done it i only get 260km to a full tank, I drove the car 3 days with only adding $10 @ 1.35 per litre and got 348km now i have just filled up and we shall see

Yes series 1 i think was 1 wire and Series 2 was 2 wires for VNII-VP's. Repco has Bosch for $80-$88

Update of my dash Still doing good mostly 95% is local driving and driving harder then normal cause in the past when i have changed a part i drive like a puss. Not this time.
