Hi Guys... I have a VN Calais 89 and have a similar problem. My speedo needle gets stuck down at 0 quite regularly. Sometimes when i hit 60km/h it flies up and works fine again. Seems that once i stop and needle returns to 0 it sticks again. I have to tap down on the top of the dash just above the speedo to get it moving. Seems to be around 10km/h out also. I set my "over speed limiter" to 70km/h and the needle shows around 80ish or just over before the warning light flashes for 70km/h. I'm assuming the light is showing the correct speed coz i use it all the time and haven't had and speeding tickets since purchasing the car and use the "OSL" regularly.

How easy is this to fix??? Is it costly?? i don't really have any knowledge on repairing these matters.

    any suggestions would be appreciated.
not a huge issue...sometimes it's better not knowing how fast your doing.lol

could be the typical dirty contacts in the back of the cluster, take it out, give them a clean, make sure nothings broken. see how it goes.

i tend to crank my system up and put the bass up ridiculisly loud for a minute or so when i start driving, really frees up cluster, other than that your palm is the next best thing

MMMM sub bass. Good for many things!! I'll have to stick to smackin the dash till i either get some subs or have a chance to pull things apart and investigate. (don't really wanna start pulling things apart coz when i do, they seem to stay apart)

    cheers for the advice!
