    Default Operating temperature

Guys how long does your VN take to Get to operating temp? lately mine barely hits the 2nd line off the bottom and thats with 20minutes of driving. I dont think the thermostat is faulty, i only recently changed it.
My magna 2000 model hits, medium on the temp guage within 5minutes of the engine running!

    Any ideas?

Different cars run at different temperatures...it has been very cold lately and my car has been the same.

VL's for instance operate at about half to 3/4 sometimes on the temp guage.
Where as a VN will be under half at operating temperature

Since I rad my radiator re-cored and put a new thermostat in mine runs consistently at the 2nd bar. In hot weather in traffic it kicks up to about 2/5ths then the fan kicks in and drops it to the 2nd bar again. So yeah, roughly 1/4 on average for mine. Most VN/VPs I've seen are pretty similar. The radiators on them are pretty badass!

hmm. so a vn that sits on or just below the first bar is probably faulty?

no. VNs run really low on the temperature gauge. it doesn't mean they're running cold it's just the way the gauge is calibrated.

Depends on the type of driving you're doing. Stuck in traffic on a 45 degree day, mine never gets below half. Cruising along on the open road on a 2 degree night it never gets above the "cold" line.
Gravity is proof that nature keeps getting us down.

Yeah thats true. Living in the hills the temperature guage barely moves off the first line when i drive down in the mornings and thats a 25 minute drive before i hit traffic...then sitting in morning traffic it picks up but still never gets to half
