Hey do these look like ultra lows? to me they look more like superlows. i was expecting them to be lower. I got them from repco and they said they were ultras. I think i have uploaded the pic right.

Ultra's usually have the rim under the guard, I'd say they're lows, or super lows
It's not stupid, it's advanced.

yeah i would say they were ultras, how long they been in?
mm, could be supers. id say maybe 1-2cm lower would be about ultras, but not rim under guard, not with 17s.
they dont look like ultra's to me, I had some and were heaps lower than that.
had to take em out to get up my drive way.

Well i only put them in today so im guessing they will drop a bit more over time? is that true?

some say they do some say they dont settle. mine have settled about 1cm since having them in, which has been close to 2 months now i think. maybe longer.
i don't reckon they are ultra lows.. they look too high. ya should post a pic of the front aswell..
I think they appear higher because the tyres are quite low profile, more an 18 inch profile for a VN i think. With a 50 tyre or something, there would be alot of tyre under the guard
Yep they're ultras. I expected mine to be a lot lower too. That's why I think anyone who just goes for supers will be dissapointed.
Disappointed perhaps...but still legal. Ultralows are illegal on the rear cause they drop the eye height too far..Thats in SA and a few other states but im not 100% sure its EVERY stateOriginally Posted by VN Commy
on the box it has a sticker that says what springs they are. the number is KHPR-20SL. does anyone know the number of theirs? i was just guessing the SL on the end standed for super low. but i ordered ultras. But some of use say there ultras so they prob are.

"78-93 COMMODORE SEDAN VB-VP ULTRA LOW A KHFL-22SSL A KHPR-20SL *"
They are Ultralows
Note that the first spring number is front, second is rear. So the KHPR-20SL which are yours are the Ultra Low rear springs to suit VB to VP
It also says:
* SHORTER SHOCK ABSORBERS MUST BE FITTED TO KEEP SPRING TRAPPED -----Thats for your springs
Can't you measure the distance between centre of wheel to guard.. rims size will not affect this measurement and we can get some idea. I ask because I bought my car with a Pedders kit already installed and all I could get off it is 2123 off the rear spring, their website shows this as being the lowest rear VN Commodore spring they do, but I'm curious as to what is the King spring equivalent.
What was the measurement in mm of your rim to guard? Front and rear measurements if you like, and I can tell you.Originally Posted by WaynoVN
But as i previously posted coolvncommodore's springs are definitely Ultralows. Thats according to King Springs for that part number.
what size springs are in urs then vn2nv. cause urs looks alot lower in ur pic. and would it be illegal for a springs works worker to professionaly cut mine and re mould em? cause he offered to do it for nothing. and i work with him now. well he works for me i guess
The springs in my pic are Lovells equivalents to Ultralows. They are made on request only, however I believe they are commonly available for VS commodores.Originally Posted by VN-88
They have since been taken out though cause I was defected for being 3 inches too low down at Victor Harbour on schoolies week. The rear now has King Spring Superlows sitting at 315mm, just under. It took SA Suspension Centre to get the springs to sit right as the legal limit was 310mm so i wanted it just over and just cause the springs say they will sit at 315mm doesnt mean they actually do. My rims are only 16's by the way, and I still have the Lovells in the front, although I may need to get King Springs as Im getting 18's soon.
As for professionally having springs cut and re-moulded....I think that would probably be legal (or atleast no cop would know any different)...but perhaps ring up the road transport authority and check if you wanna make 100% sure.
well id say if cops got under my car and looked they wouldnt notice cause he actually cuts them then re spaces them and re moulds the end. he said at his old work at the spring place the actually bought long springs and cut them and make them
But they would tell people thats what they had done wouldnt they? If not thats illegal...whether the springs are or not.Originally Posted by VN-88
Proper lowered springs are gonna have an advantage in every aspect though. Just buy lowered springs, Kings or Lovells.
alot of people have there springs reset, as in heated up and compressed, i dont like the idea of cutting sprins full stop weather you or your friendly neighbourhood spring man does em it's stil the same, chop
I know I've got Kings superlows...
well im getting super lows. will it make my car look much lower. here is a pic of my car as flat as i could manage. and if u had to guess wat size psrings would u say are in it. i only not that they are red. they had peddars white shocks and they are really hard. but i dont no the size. so as i said if u got a guess id like to no
